In February 2nd – 4th, Manila (Philippines) hosted the Second International Meeting of the “Global Action Against Mass Atrocity Crimes” (GAAMAC II) on ‘Preventing atrocities: How to strengthen national atrocity prevention architectures.’

In the context of the African Task Force (ATF) initiative launched in 2015, on February 22nd the Budapest Centre convened a regional workshop in Nairobi with key representatives within the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) and the Kenya National Committee on the Prevention of Genocide.

The Budapest Centre for the International Prevention of Genocide and Mass Atrocities welcomes Anastasia Buscicchio who is going to be a new Research Assistant of the organization from mid-February 2016.

The Budapest Centre for the International Prevention of Genocide and Mass Atrocities wishes to facilitate the activities of the international community committed to atrocity crimes prevention and the implementation of the concept of the Responsibility to Protect through compiling a Global Questionnaire on Atrocity Crimes.

On January 22, 2016 at the Italian Association of the Foreign Press, our Director for Research and Cooperation, Prof Enzo Maria Le Fevre Cervini, participated, along with the Italian UnderSecretary of State for Civil Liberties and Migration, Judge Domenico Manzione, and Professor Antonio Golini, to the presentation of the English version of the “Report on the reception of migrants and refugees in Italy. Aspects, procedures, problems” compiled in 2015 by a group of experts for the Italian Ministry of the Interior.
