Tuesday 8th May 2014
Room 2C – Department of Political Sciences – University of Roma Tre
Via Gabriello Chiabrera 199 – Rome

On the 8th of May at 4:00 pm the cycle of seminars “Responsibility to Protect, duty to prevent” held at the University of Roma Tre will host the Italian premiere of the movie “Watchers Of The Sky”. The movie interweaves four stories of remarkable courage, compassion, and determination, while setting out to uncover the forgotten life of Raphael Lemkin – the man who created the word “genocide,” and believed the law could protect the world from mass atrocities. Inspired by Samantha Power’s Pulitzer Prize-winning book, A Problem From Hell, WATCHERS OF THE SKY takes you on a provocative journey from Nuremberg to The Hague, from Bosnia to Darfur, from criminality to justice, and from apathy to action.

At the end of the projection a debate will follow together with
Amelia Green-Dove – Producer of the movie Watchers of the Sky,
Leopoldo Nuti – Professor of History of International Relations and Delegate of the Rector for North America at the University of Roma Tre,
Silvia Scarpa – Professor of Political Science at John Cabot University / LUISS University,
H.E. Mr. Sargis Ghazaryan – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia in the Italian Republic, and
Enzo Maria Le Fevre Cervini, Director of Research and Cooperation at the Budapest Centre.

The event is organized by the Budapest Centre and the Department of Political Science of the University of Roma Tre, in cooperation with the producers of “Watchers Of The Sky”, the Festival of Diplomacy and the International Association of Political Science Students of Roma Tre.
